In January 1545, Sir Jeremiah Zaurberie and his family built a beautiful, six-floor castle where they resided for many years. The castle was eventually passed down to Jeremiah's great-great-great grandson, Arthur, his wife, Katrina, and their daughters, Marlene and Cora.
In the early 1930s, the family decided to open the castle as a school so young witches and wizards from Australia and all around the world could get a good quality education. Students would be divided into houses named after the founders' favourite mythological creatures and would be taught various things including how to brew potions, how to cast useful spells and charms and how to care for magical plants and animals. All was well for many years before Marlene, at the age of 36, passed away from illness. She now haunts the school and is known as 'The helpful maiden'.
Welcome to Zaurberie's Academy of Magic! We pleased to meet you and we hope you enjoy your time with us!
